If you want to utilise the one sim unit and cover other training modules then this will cover off plenty.
We swapout the Truck steering wheel for a much smaller Forklift steering wheel, add a F/N/R lever, and a set of forklift levers and a Telehandler joystick.
Forklift – We add on a set of 3 levers that will run the functions of a standard Forklift. In the software you have a Logistics Centre complete with truck bays, pallet racking, and a ton of interactive pallets you can move around. You can unload or load a flatdeck truck or a pantech, so there is plenty of options. As with most RTO’s you have a group of trainees all there just sitting around waiting for a turn on the live training forklifts, so get them onto the simulator and practice.. Great for any trainee that is struggling or just needs a confidence boost.
Telehandler – same as above with several options plus we use a right side joystick to run all the Telehandler functions. Use this machine at the Logistics centre also.
Reachstacker – a bit more unique but also uses the right side joystick and near to our logistics centre is a area for containers that can be moved, loaded onto trucks, run a B Double etc.
NOTE – Use this as a step in the training once the classroom is done and it will save time and running costs on all your live machines. The trainee still needs to complete the real world activities and training modules, but this will speed up their time in the seat considerably.
